Power and Privacy
Cameras that record where you go. Data centers that want Montana’s cheap power and tax breaks. I’ll fight both.
They don’t get to watch you
Flock cameras record everything that moves past them. Not just criminals, but you too.
Montana put privacy in our constitution, and these AI-powered cameras are an invasion of it.
No Flock cameras in Flathead County.
They don’t get to hand us the bill
Data centers want cheap power at our expense and tax breaks. They bring almost no jobs. The profit leaves and the cost stays.
We haven’t seen any proposals in Flathead County yet, and we need to figure out the rules before we get one.
This is the seat that decides it
No petition. No ballot measure. No vote of the people. Three county commissioners decide these issues.
I’m running to make sure that we get it right.
Four commitments. Write them down.
01
A one-year pause.
Time to write our data center rules before a proposal arrives. Not a ban — a year to make sure that we aren’t on the hook for increased utility costs.
02
No county tax break for a data center.
The county has no business giving tax breaks to multi-billion dollar corporations and moving the difference onto your property tax bill.
03
No Flock cameras in Flathead County.
They log where everybody goes, every day. I’ll fight for your right to privacy and against any AI-powered government surveillance.
04
County data stays in the county.
No county agency joins a camera network that hands off sensitive data without a warrant.
