An Economy That Works in January
Drive through in July and it looks like it’s humming. Drive through in January and you see the truth. Too many jobs here disappear with the tourists.
What I’ll do
- Back the trades and steady, year-round work.
- Send county contracts to local contractors and local businesses first.
- Fund training that puts people into skilled trades.
- Push for wages that keep up with what it costs to live here.
A home here costs about 8.5 times what a family earns. The people who do the work should be able to afford to live here.
